The Children Residential Specialist assists the Residence Manager, Shift Supervisor and Residential Behavioral Specialist with implementing and maintaining residential systems and programs within the house, campus, and community settings. The Children Residential Specialist implements and often models student specific interventions as identified in student support and behavior plans. The Children Residential Specialist maintains all appropriate student or classroom related documentation. The Children Residential Specialist is expected to assist students with learning skills that promote the individuals overall independence.
Pay Range: $19.50 - $21.42 hourly; based on years of experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Children Residential Specialist provides appropriate supervision to ensure the health and safety of students. The Children Residential Specialist works to increase student independence in daily living, communication, recreation, and social skills domains.
- Maintains knowledge of autism spectrum and related disorders.
- The Children Residential Specialist assists the shift supervisor with planning and implementing recreational, social, educational, and other developmental programs assigned for individuals.
- The Children Residential Specialist will develop skills through committee involvement and behavioral training programs with the goal of reducing behavioral issues and increasing positive outcomes.
- The Children Residential Specialist assists with training formal and informal student learning goals.
- The Children Residential Specialist acts as a member of a residential team representing student progress, challenges, and abilities in a respectful manner.
- The Children Residential Specialist interacts as part of the interdisciplinary team consisting of Behavioral, Related Services and Education.
- The Children Residential Specialist acts as a responsible employee of Anderson Center for Autism.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree, in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or Education or closely related field.
- Must maintain qualifications in the crisis intervention procedure of the agency.
- Must be capable at all times of initiating or assisting in all components of the crisis intervention of the agency.
- Must be capable at all times of assisting occupants in the orderly evacuation of the facility, by both primary and secondary paths in the event of fire or other emergency.
