About this role
The NeuroBehavioral Chief Nursing Officer is directly responsible to ensure the goals and objectives of the hospital are accomplished according to the policy direction of the organization. This position is directly responsible for Nursing Services, Clinic Operations and Patient Care Areas.
What you bring to the tableEducation:
- Master's degree in Nursing, related health care, medical services, behavioral or rehabilitative science field.
Experience:
- Five (5) years of managerial experience in a leadership position performing duties typically associated with the Assistant or Associate Director of Nursing or Director of Nursing in a mental health setting, a college or university program, or a health care facility, which included a discrete psychiatric program.
Licenses/Certifications:
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
- Oversees daily operations of nursing services in meeting facility goals and objectives.
- Develops, presents, and manages the nursing services budget.
- Participates with Exec Management in strategic planning and budget development by participating in the development of policy to include goals, outcome and process objectives and implementation steps.
- Provides administrative leadership and oversight to all Nursing, Programs and Education departments (ACNO, Employee Health, Infection Control, Safety and Environment).
- Assumes professional responsibility to assure that nursing standards are followed; licensed staff are current with licensure; and educational programs meet clinical standards.
- Organizes service delivery through judicious staffing and scheduling, management of workforce and material, and communication and collaboration with other departments, other facilities, persons served, their families and visitors.
- Participates in the quality improvement activities as designated. Develops and manages quality improvement activities for Nursing Services.
- Provides direct supervision and directs service delivery by serving as a resource and consultant to nursing staff and assisting with difficult decisions and operational issues. Motivates staff; guides problem identification and solving, facilitates constructive resolution of conflict.
- Demonstrates knowledge in TJC / ACHA / CMS standards and recovery planning.
- Evaluates service delivery and professional growth and development of staff. Monitors, reports and assists with resolution of safety issues.
- Performs various administrative duties as needed for efficient program administration.
- Demonstrates understanding of risk management programs, clinical precautions, infection control, fall prevention, utilization of special procedures, environmental checks, fire disaster procedures, and alternatives to use with regards to seclusion/restraint methods.
