I am searching for a Chief Marketing Officer (as well as 2 VPs of Marketing) in BOSTON for a projected multi-billion startup company by one of the biggest names in hospitality/senior living.

The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), is a top-level executive responsible for overseeing and managing an organization's marketing, branding and advertising strategy. The CMO is a member of our senior leadership team and reports directly to the CEO. The CMO’s primary role is to develop and execute marketing strategies that align with the company’s overall business objectives and help drive growth and profitability.

The CMO will play a crucial role in driving a company's growth and success by connecting with customers, increasing brand awareness, and effectively marketing products or services. You will need to be adaptable, creative, and data-driven to stay competitive in the ever-evolving world of marketing.

Responsibilities include:

Marketing Strategy: Developing and implementing marketing strategies that support the company's goals, which may involve market research, customer segmentation, and competitive analysis.
Branding: Managing and enhancing the company's brand identity, ensuring it is consistent and appealing to the target audience.
Advertising and Promotion: Overseeing advertising campaigns, both online and offline, and promotional activities to increase brand visibility and drive sales.
Digital Marketing: Managing online marketing efforts, including social media, content marketing, email marketing, and search engine optimization (SEO).
Product Marketing: Collaborating with all departments for cross functional collaboration to ensure that products and services are effectively brought to market.
Market Research: Conducting research to understand market trends, customer preferences, and the competitive landscape.
Public Relations: Managing the company's public image and relationships with the media, stakeholders, and the public.
Budget Management: Allocating and managing the marketing budget to optimize the return on investment.
Data and Analytics: Using data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and make data-driven decisions.
Team Leadership: Building and leading a high-performing marketing team and fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.
Partnerships and Alliances: Forming strategic partnerships and alliances with other companies or organizations to expand the company's reach and market presence.
Customer Experience: Ensuring a consistent and positive customer experience across all marketing touchpoints.

Qualifications:

  • Boston, MA based or willing to relocate (RELOCATION ASSISTANCE PROVIDED)
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field is required. MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience in scaling start-up organizations- preferably within the hospitality, lifestyle, or distributed services sectors.
  • Professional Experience: 5+ years of experience in marketing, preferably as a VP or CMO. Experience in various marketing areas, including digital marketing, branding, product marketing, public relations, and marketing strategy.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills to oversee and guide the marketing team effectively. Ability to set a clear marketing vision and strategy for the organization.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to use data to make informed marketing decisions and measure campaign performance.
  • Digital Marketing Expertise: Solid understanding of digital marketing, including SEO, content marketing, social media marketing, and email marketing.
  • Brand Management: The ability to build, maintain, and enhance the company's brand image, both online and offline.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, as the company’s CMOs you will need to interact with stakeholders, clients, and the media.
  • Budget Management: Financial acumen to manage marketing budgets efficiently and maximize the return on investment (ROI).
  • Adaptability: Adaptable and open to change, embracing new technologies and marketing strategies.
  • Networking: Strong industry connections and the ability to build partnerships with other organizations, influencers, and agencies.
  • Crisis Management: The ability to handle marketing crises or public relations issues effectively and mitigate potential damage to the brand.
  • Analytics and KPIs: Proficiency in using marketing analytics tools and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure the success of marketing initiatives.
