Chief Estimator will be responsible for identifying new clients and continue to build existing client relationships by showing the value of Forrester Construction’s Preconstruction Services. Lead the preconstruction and estimating services on a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects ranging from $5M -$100M. Mentor a talented team of construction professionals to prepare clear, complete, and competitive budgets and estimates, including bid packages and general conditions.

What you will be doing:

·         Branding Forrester Construction’s Preconstruction Services in the industry and maintaining an active engagement within a subcontractor related Industry Associations and actively participating in Owner Architect Design meetings and follow up.

·         Actively track local market conditions and their effect on costs and schedules. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with the majority of major subcontractors and successfully identify strategic advantages that leads to winning competitively bid work.

·         Lead by example and demonstrate to team members successful strategies for estimating skills, conceptual estimating, review quantity takeoffs and pricing, estimate for any issues on scope, takeoffs, unit pricing.

·         Effectively communicates verbally and in writing project requirements and owner directives to the team and develops plans to meet the stated goals. Leads identification of qualified subcontractors and establishing and maintaining bid solicitation lists.

·         Serves as the primary point of contact for all day-to-day communications with the Owner and Design team on multiple projects.

·         Primary responsibilities in include Cost Estimation, Quantity Takeoff, Cost Analysis, Collaboration, Trade Partner Relationships, Proposal Preparation, Risk Assessment, Documentation and Reporting, Team Leadership.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or other relevant concentration.

·         Strategic thinker able to assess the big picture and recommend alternative solutions which add value to potential clients.

·         10 years + of preconstruction/estimating positions in a commercial construction setting for projects $5M to $100M.

·         Experience managing multiple direct reports in estimating or project management positions.

·         Hands on experience in estimating of projects in various stages of the project from conceptual schematic design development to construction documents.

·         Experience in managing multiple projects concurrently while contributing towards the group’s

·         goals for the year.

·         Proven ability to organize necessary resources, including people, tools, and time to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present complex information in groups and one-on-one settings.

·         History of success in interfacing with clients, architects, subcontractors, and demonstrated leadership skills including willingness to face challenges, direct others, and effectively offer solutions to overcome obstacles.

·         Strong computer skills with a variety of software packages. Proficiency with mathematical complex operations and accounting principles on a regular basis.

·         Ability to deal with non-verbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, concrete and abstract variables.

·         Must be goal oriented and a self-starter. Proven ability to work in a faced paced, deadline- oriented work environment.
