High and High School basketball staff members to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the CGIS basketball program within the MCS systemPerform duties assigned to all coaches by administratorsWork with the administration to achieve district goals described within the Maryville City Schools Strategic Plan documentConsider athletics as part of the total educational program, encouraging athletes to work to their maximum ability in both academics and sportsMaintain effective working relationships with school administrators, governing organizations (TMSAA), opponents, officials, staff, parents, and students within the Basketball Program.Dynamic communicator and motivator of student-athletesDevelop and maintains a positive educational environment on the courtManage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions, to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.Coordinate the development, promotion, and retention of the Girls Basketball ProgramHave a comprehensive knowledge of the game as well as extensive knowledge of current coaching techniques and procedures.Develop a regular practice schedule and organize practice time to provide both individual and team development.Develop and incorporate a plan for off-season and pre-season strength training as well as promotion of a year round healthy lifestyle.Actively support student athlete secondary school goals.Incorporate best practices into a growth-oriented teaching/coaching stylePossess the ability to assess players and coaches effectively.Be willing to accept a high level of accountability.Options- Contracted coaching position with external employmentCombine with open teaching positionsOr, combine with classified position FLSA: Exempt
