Job Description

Description:

PCG is looking for a Cerner Millennium RadNet Professional. Your primary responsibility is to support the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of the RadNet system within a healthcare facility. You will work closely with radiologists, radiology department staff, and other stakeholders to ensure that the system meets their needs and is integrated smoothly into their workflow.

Your job duties may include:

  • You will be involved in the initial installation and setup of the RadNet system. This includes configuring the software to align with the organization's requirements, integrating it with other relevant systems, and ensuring proper connectivity and functionality.
  • You will customize the RadNet system to meet the specific needs of the radiology department. This involves setting up user access and permissions, defining workflows, creating templates for reports, and configuring imaging protocols and standards.
  • You will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and support of the RadNet system. This includes monitoring system performance, troubleshooting technical issues, applying software updates and patches, and ensuring data integrity and security.
  • You will provide training to radiology department staff on how to effectively use the RadNet system. This may involve conducting training sessions, creating user documentation and guides, and offering ongoing support to address user questions and concerns.
  • You will continuously assess the RadNet system's performance and identify areas for improvement. This may involve analyzing data and system usage, gathering user feedback, and working with Cerner support or development teams to implement enhancements or resolve issues.
  • You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including radiologists, IT teams, administrators, and other healthcare professionals. Effective communication skills are important for gathering requirements, understanding user needs, and coordinating system changes or updates.

Requirements:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in healthcare informatics, computer science, information systems, or a related field is often preferred. Some organizations may consider equivalent work experience or certifications in lieu of a degree.
  • Healthcare and Radiology Knowledge: A strong understanding of healthcare operations and radiology workflows is essential. Familiarity with medical imaging terminology, radiology procedures, and regulatory requirements (such as HIPAA) is beneficial.
  • Cerner Millennium RadNet Experience: Experience working with Cerner Millennium RadNet or other radiology information systems (RIS) is highly desirable. Knowledge of the system's functionalities, configuration, and integration with other healthcare systems is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in various technical areas is important, including system implementation, configuration, and maintenance. Experience with system integration, data analysis, troubleshooting, and software updates is valuable. Familiarity with SQL databases and scripting languages may also be beneficial.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: The ability to identify and resolve technical issues, analyze data to optimize system performance, and troubleshoot problems is essential. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills are valuable assets.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills are necessary to interact with various stakeholders, including radiologists, radiology department staff, IT teams, and other healthcare professionals. The ability to listen actively, explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals, and work effectively in a team environment is crucial.
  • Attention to Detail: Paying close attention to detail is important in configuring and maintaining the RadNet system accurately. Ensuring data integrity, system security, and compliance with regulatory standards requires meticulousness.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications related to healthcare IT, such as the Certified Radiology Informatics Professional (CRIP) certification or Cerner-specific certifications, can be advantageous and demonstrate expertise in the field.
