Job Title: Truck Driver
Reporting to: Fleet Manager
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Location: Nashville, NC
Position Summary (“Paid to…”): Drives trucks to pick up eggs from distribution center and deliver eggs to retail locations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: Includes the following. Other duties may apply or be assigned.
· Drives tractor trailer to pick up eggs from distribution location to deliver eggs to retail locations.
· Operates electric and manual hand jacks.
· Loads and unloads egg trailers and operates liftgates.
· Maintains DOT records such as Log-Book and vehicle inspection documents
· Interfaces with customers, contract growers, and/or employees
· Checks egg trailer temperature periodically during the day
· Safe Quality Foods (SQF) compliant
· Helps drive all of BFF’s Environment Management Systems (EMS) in an impactful manner to include: monitoring/reducing operationally-related negative effects on the environment as well as pollution prevention.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Competencies:
1. Safety- To ensure all safety standards are met and followed to the fullest. Must be alert at all times and use best common judgement.
2. Housekeeping-To ensure that all work areas are maintained - clean and litter free at all times… i.e. sweeping, dusting and debris removal are all mandatory parts of housekeeping.
3. Security-To ensure that the trailer and location are secure at all times. To ensure all seals are maintained. To ensure that paperwork accurately represents delivery.

o Class A (Commercial CDL) w/ excellent driving record (see below)
o Minimum of 21 years of age
o At least one year of over the road experience with a DOT certified carrier (preferred)
o Professional driving school graduates considered
o Provide a ten-year work history and ability to verify the past three years
o No more than one moving violation in the past three years (CMV)
o No more than one preventable accident in the past three years (CMV)
o No alcohol related charges in a personal vehicle in the past ten years
o No drug possession convictions in the past seven years
o No alcohol or drug related convictions in a commercial motor vehicle
o No violent, larceny or drug/alcohol felonies
o Possess only one CDL, issued in the state of residence
o Pass a DOT physical and drug screen
o Meet company qualifications
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
· Must be able to operate electronic on-board recorders
· Must have a basic understanding of computer operations
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
· Must have a Commercial Drivers License and be able to pass DOT physical exam
· Must have a forklift license

Work Environment: Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, odor and other environment specific atmospheres.
