Job Summary
Under supervision of preceptor, renders nursing care to patients within assigned department and demonstrates knowledge of needs of patient population specific to that department. (Patient population is defined in each department's Scope of Practice). May also cover front desk duties as directed by Practice Manager. This includes answering telephones, check in/out of patients, and insurance entry into computer system.
Qualifications
Education:
Student in good standing from a Medical Assistant program. Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program is preferred although not required. Medical Assistant must provide proof of completion of externship hours to department director as well as certification or registration in medical assisting. This position is available for CMA/CCMA/RMA for timeframe of 10-12 weeks from hire date and successful completion of onboarding program. If the employee does not complete program within timeframe, disciplinary action, including separation may occur.
Training:
Length of orientation with a preceptor will be a minimum of 2-3 months from hire date. Healthcare Provider CPR course is required within the onboarding program timeframe.
Experience:
Must have completed the above outlined education component.
