AddressFairview Health Services is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Therapy team at our M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital location in Burnsville, MN.
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services as prescribed by a physician. Follows defined treatment protocol according to department policies. Collects, assesses, interprets, and intervenes as appropriate in the care of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Ensures patient welfare and safety standards during treatments.
Schedule: This position will be working casual. The shift length will be 12 hours on either day/evening/night shift.

Responsibilities
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for:
- Assessing patient needs and identifies expected outcomes.
- Implementing Respiratory interventions based on plan of care.
- Evaluating care and the patient’s response to interventions and expected outcomes.
- Delivering care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patient population, or individual patient.
- Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
- Operating and maintaining all Respiratory Care equipment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Education
- Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
- License/Certification/Registration
- Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) with 3 or more years of Respiratory Therapist experience in clinical setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Additional Requirements (must be obtained and maintained)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
- Experience
- 1 to 3 years of experience is preferred with pediatric or adult critical care patients
- License/Certification/Registration
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
