We are seeking a sharp, skilled & professional Casual Dining Manager to join our expanding team at Ørchard. Ørchard on Catawba Island is a family owned & operated, 24-acre agritourism venue featuring two full-service restaurants, three bars, fresh coffee & bakery, farm market, retail shop, peach & apple orchard, vineyard, beehives, acres of gardens and more. The position’s focus is managing service operations in conjunction with our existing management team and will play a key role in overseeing the guest journey from entry to departure, as it relates to service & hospitality. In addition to managing the guest experience at Orchard Farm Stand, this role will train & develop hourly hosts, servers, food runners & bussers. The Fine Dining Manager will work closely with the Beverage Director & Culinary Director; while demonstrating excellent leadership, communication and team building skills with all peers on Ørchard property. It is expected that this position spends at least 80% of their time in the operation, and the remaining 20% on administrative duties, as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop best-in-class front of house training programs to ensure restaurant success through friendly, memorable hospitality.
- Train all hourly service employees according to training programs; adjusting training guides & programs as needed.
- Assist management team with recruiting talent, hiring, prescribing disciplinary action, and termination as needed.
- Accountable for front of house employee’s work schedules; to be posted in the scheduling system each Monday by 3pm for following Monday through Sunday; Role is expected to adjust work schedules “on the fly” as obstacles arise, ensuring guest journey remains unimpacted. Work schedules should align with labor cost goals provided by Executive Management.
- Work closely with the fellow management team & Executive Management on a day-to-day basis, including direct & group communication of the job regarding reservations, sales goals, and general company news.
- Accountable for Orchard Farm Stand dining spaces to ensure proper room preparation and cleanliness, including table settings, linens, florals, glassware, etc.
- Host daily pre-shift with front of house employees. These daily meetings are expected to be positive, upbeat, and effectively communicate key information to staff. During pre-shift, all front of house staff must be on time, in proper uniform, and adhere to Orchard Bar & Table grooming standards.
- Complete daily closing shift notes, noting sales, guest relations, employee relations, etc. Closing shift notes are to be published each night to fellow managers and Executive Management.
- Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations.
- Be physically present on the floor during service to foster and maintain positive guest relations.
