Salary Description:
This is a remote role.
This role is responsible for applying cash to customer accounts and performing detailed research on problems that arise during the Cash Application process. You will reconcile misapplied accounts, contact customers for remittance and work with collectors to obtain remits.
Recognize and proactively communicate potential Cash Application issues
Research and assist in solving payment discrepancies and works with Credit & Collections to quickly and efficiently resolve issues
Promptly process cash, credit and debit memos and use other documentation support when necessary to resolve account differences with customers
Escalate large Cash Application issues appropriately
Develop root cause analysis to proactively correct issues
Actively document customer issues including customer payment issues
Notify management of account reconciliation concerns
Skills:
Basic understanding of accounting processes
Ability to recognize and research billing problems and to identify component parts, causes and cost impact
Ability to utilize computer system features to accurately research and document account issues
Ability to identify and address concerns before they become problems and to propose solutions to the concerns
Capable of being entrusted with confidential information
Ability to build productive working relationships
Strong ability to communicate both orally and in writing
Ability to cooperate with team members and supervisor
Ability to be flexible with position duties and scope of work
Skilled in systems tools or ability to pick up system knowledge quickly
