Job Description
Position: Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer
Hours: Monday-Friday (40hrs.), 1 weekend a month,
Pay: $34-$48/hr.
Education:
- Accredited Cardiac Ultrasound program or equivalent OJT from an echo laboratory (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Vascular Technician (RVT)
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) (Required)
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)
Overview:
- Will work under the supervision of the Coordinator, Manager or Director of Department.
- Performs the following tests for age specific population served that may include: Echo, stress echo (to include exercise and dobutamine), transesophageal (TEE) echoes.
- Demonstrates ability to assess patient status, data and interpret appropriate information.
- Ability to modify patient procedures to provide physician with appropriate clinical data to ensure quality patient care and optimal outcomes.
Position Duties:
- Produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures. Provides clinical documentation per scope of practice.
- Performs tests for age specific population served that includes, echo, stress echo (to include exercise and dobutamine), transesophageal(TEE) echoes, and contrast imaging.
- Demonstrates commitment to safety and quality and prevents or reduces harms through knowledge and application of departmental policies, procedures, and resource documents.
- Understands and adheres to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Follows RHS policies and procedures. Reports variances.
- Modifies patient procedures to provide physician with appropriate clinical data for optimal outcomes.
- Provides the highest level of patient care and engagement.
- Provides effective and efficient assessment, actions, and documentation.
