Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assesses patient for device/rhythm related issues. Assessment includes presenting or recent symptoms, and pertinent history.
- Demonstrates advanced and in depth knowledge/understanding of device technology, purpose of the device implant, expected alteration in clinical condition, and potential device-related causes for patient symptoms.
- Troubleshoots problems with multiple manufacturers of implantable cardiac devices. Consults physician and registered nurse as needed.
- Performs interrogation of implantable devices from all major manufacturers.
- Communicates any abnormal technical or clinical problems to the physician and/or registered nurse.
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three years recent work experience working with cardiac device management in a hospital or physician's office.
- One and half years of specialized training in cardiac device management and interrogation techniques.
- BLS certification.
Preferred:
- Certification on devices.
- RN license and/or health-related associate degree.
