Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Location: Onsite, Hybrid, or Remote in the Colorado area (If Onsite or Hybrid the position will be based in Pueblo, CO)
Pay: $73k - $100k (depending on experience)
What You'd Be Doing
As an integral member of the Business Intelligence (BI) team, the BI Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of mission-critical enterprise BI reporting and analytics tools. Working with cross-functional teams, gather and document reporting requirements to meet business needs. Using skills and experience as a BI Developer, use those requirements to design, develop, test, and implement tools that utilize the underlying data stores/data warehouses/data marts.
Responsibilities include the following:
Participates in business analysis activities to gather requirements
Translates business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required tools
Provides support as required to ensure the availability and performance of developed tools
Ensures that proper configuration management, security, and change controls are implemented and tested
Provides technical assistance and cross training to other team members
Designs and implements technology best practices, guidelines, and repeatable processes
Perform duties capably with moderate to low supervision
Trains other team members/staff on relevant topics at which you excel or have significant experience
Completes 100% of assigned annual training tasks on time, 100% of the time.
Responds to incoming ticket requests within 1 business day, 100% of the time.
Provides updates on open tickets to business owners a minimum of weekly, 100% of the time.
Attends and participates in weekly team meetings, 100% of the time.
Attends and participates in weekly one-on-one supervision meetings with the BI Supervisor, 100% of the time.
Produces code/script that conforms to Coding Standard Policies & Procedures 100% of the time.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For-The Must-Haves
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent combination of experience, education and training
Colorado driver's license, a good driving record, and access to transportation during work hours
At least 3 years of experience developing, implementing, and maintaining applications, including the following:
o Working with users in a requirements analysis role
o Data warehouse implementations, operation, and maintenance, including ETL
o Understanding of current data concepts such as predictive analytics and forecasting.
o Knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts (e.g., relational, dimensional)
Performance tuning experience (MS SQL Server configuration, query optimization, hardware configuration)
Excellent interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills are required to support working in project environments that includes internal, external, and customer teams
Requires strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities, and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities
Adapts easily to different environments such as team projects or working independently.
What We'd Like to See in You-The Nice-to-Haves
Programming/scripting experience related to ETL and analytical processes such as PowerShell and Python
Information Technology or Business Intelligence-related certifications
