Brake and Shear Technician Tier 2

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate a Brake and Shear machine to cut and bend material according to work orders

• Translate schematics and blueprints into completed cut materials

• Verify dimensions of pieces, using micrometer, gauges, and rule

• Adjust Brake and Shear for required cuts and bends

• Adjust other machinery parameters and perform maintenance to ensure optimal function

• Examine completed parts for defects and takes corrective action to bring defective parts in-line with quality standards and proper specifications

• Organize materials after processing

• Operate a forklift and overhead crane

• Other duties as necessary or assigned

• Schedule: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Requirements:

Job Qualifications:

• One or more years of experience operating a CNC-controlled hydraulic press brake

• One or more years of experience operating a hydraulic shear

• Experience and aptitude operating a plasma table may result in a higher starting wage

• Previous experience operating other fabrication equipment such as rollers, iron workers, and band saws is not required but will distinguish an applicant

• Experience and aptitude MIG welding is not required but will distinguish an applicant
