Responsibilities:
Perform construction work such as digging holes, placing poles, laying cable in the ground, unreeling, pulling and stringing wire and cable. Place fiber cable through conduit, Install conduit, move or remove underground wire/cable, using necessary equipment, per customer and supervisory order.
- Communicate with your locator to make sure drill string is on the proper path
- Understanding of steering and percentages, rotation rates etc.
- Ability to change tooling as required
- Knowledgeable in reaming holes to upsize for bigger product
- Knowledgeable use of hand tools
- Knowledge of all underground utilities and potholing to create a bore path
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner
- Notify manager in the event of damage or damage that can be prevented
Schedule:
- 10 hour shifts
- Monday through Friday
- Job Type: Full-time
- Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Experience:
- Operate Vermeer 20x22 directional drill or have similar experience
- Mix and manage mud with the ability to lift 75lbs infrequently
- Ability to locate is desirable
- Be a team player and help with other tasks outside of drilling
- Regular daily maintenance and fluid level checks
Requirements:
- Have a CDL license to drive and transport drill/mud truck to various locations
- Capacity to read and understand blueprints
- Knowledge of utility depths and placements
- General knowledge of construction practices
Compensation: $30-$45/HR + Benefits
