JOB SUMMARY:
A growing boutique family-owned real estate company is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant. The individual in this role will primarily focus on the bookkeeping element of the job, playing a crucial part in ensuring that financial records accurate and efficient management. Key responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices and payments, reconciling bank statements, and generating financial reports.
A CPA license is not required for this position, but heavy accounting experience is necessary. In addition to bookkeeping, the individual in this position will also be responsible for performing various administrative tasks to support the smooth and efficient operation of the office. These tasks may include organizing and maintaining files, answering phone calls, responding to emails, scheduling appointments, and greeting visitors. The ideal candidate for this role must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, multitasking abilities, and strong attention to detail.
As the individual will be handling sensitive financial information, a keen sense of responsibility and discretion is also essential for success in this role. This in-person position requires the candidate to work from our office in the Wilshire/La Cienega area of Los Angeles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Bookkeeping - i.e., data entry, reports, account reconciliations
- General office support - i.e., ordering supplies and assisting with various Excel and Word projects/tasks.
- Review and file documents - i.e., leases
- Answer the phones and greet people in the front office.
- Assist with organizing the office and streamlining work for the team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience in real estate accounting is a significant plus.
- 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping is a must.
- 2+ years experience using QuickBooks, preferably QuickBooks Desktop
- 2+ years of experience handling administrative duties for an office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AppFolio is a plus
COMPUTER SKILLS - Demonstrate the ability to effectively use a computer and applicable computer software-intermediate knowledge of Excel & Word, Adobe, and Outlook.
LANGUAGE SKILLS and MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Demonstrate the ability to read, comprehend, and respond appropriately through written or verbal form; demonstrate tactfulness when communicating, including internal communication with staff members of all levels; ability to communicate with a variety of audiences effectively. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all measure units using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING - Demonstrate the ability to apply common sense and follow through to daily tasks effectively; demonstrate the ability to work with little or no supervision; demonstrate excellent analytical skills; demonstrate the ability to efficiently conduct research and ask appropriate probing questions to complete necessary tasks.
