Pay range: $22 - $27 per hour

Are you looking to grow your accounting career while working part-time and flexible hours? Clyde's at Mark Center is hiring a Bookkeeper to join our team!

Clyde's at Mark Center is owned and managed by the Clyde's Restaurant Group which remains one of the most successful and enduring restaurant companies in the nation with a rich history and 11 iconic properties in the greater Washington, DC region that includes the Clyde's brand, 1789 Restaurant, The Tombs, Old Ebbitt Grill, and The Hamilton.

This is an ideal position for someone that has been an accounting clerk, accounting assistant, accounting specialist, staff accountant, hospitality controller, or in school for accounting.

The position requires 20 - 25 hours a week.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A BOOKKEEPER
  • Requires accounting background in bookkeeping and cash handling procedures of at least (1) year
  • Experience with running payroll, preferred
  • Accurate data entry skill, attention to detail, speed, organization, and efficiency
  • Able to accurately and quickly count, sort, and record large sums of money and change and
  • Friendly, hardworking, and hospitality-driven with a desire to excel and maintain the highest level of service
  • Problem solvers that can handle customer matters with courtesy, dignity, and respect
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment ideally a restaurant, hotel, or related industries


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AS A BOOKKEEPER
  • Reviews and completes a daily audit of sales
  • Counts, records, and sorts receipts generated from sales
  • Counts, records, and verifies accounts receivable of credit card transaction
  • Posts the accounting information gathered from the audit to the appropriate ledgers
  • Process payroll and benefits and keeps employee personnel files updated
  • Answers, handles, and relays incoming phone calls
  • Maintain an organized office and office equipment, mail, files, and records storage
