We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time, Billing Representative to join our Finance department. The Billing Representative will be responsible for billing and collections for Nursing Home residents. Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of Christian Health.
Competencies:
- Monitors new admissions; Performs initial checks including but not limited to insurance verification and makes first contact with party responsible for payment.
- Monitors discharges, reviews accounts, gathers and inputs final charges, prepares final statement.
- Prepares refunds.
- Inputs charges ( Beauty Parlor, laundry, Newspaper, Mattress, respiratory, etc.), post payments and performs write off and adjustments into the computer system, with appropriate approval.
- Generates patient statements/bills including review for accuracy prior to mailing to patient or sponsor (i.e. applied income amounts).
- Follows up on non-payments and/or billing discrepancies.
- Reviews all outstanding amounts due per the "Aged A/R" report and provides detailed explanation to Director of Patient Accounts as to account and billing status.
- Interacts with patients and their sponsors on various matters such as outstanding amounts due and billing questions, or concerns.
- Prepares and executes LTC Insurance and Respite Billing.
- Runs Credit Card Charges & maintains CC on File.
- Loads Resident information into Finade for further review and approval.
Education: High School diploma required
- One year of billing in a health care setting is required.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office suite to input data.
