Position: Big Data Analyst (Smart Analytics)
The Pay Rate for this position is: $35 to 51.50 Per Hour Plus Overtime (AllTech Systems Inc. has optional healthcare, dental and 401K plans for contract employees! We pay for half of the premiums of our healthcare insurance for our contract employee! **Spouse/children extra)
Position Type: 6+ Month Contract (High Chance of a Renewal or Hire)
Location: Spartanburg, SC
PAY RATE RANGE: 35 to 51.50/HR
Job Description
Accelerates and supports the ongoing activities in the field of Big Data and Smart Analytics at the innovation lab. Deals with large volumes of data, understands and explores data critical to Client's business. Responsible for driving data for future Client's processes and products. Works with different a Client's business units to understand the business demands with respect to Big Data and Analytics. Conducts advanced analytical tasks, data mining, predictive modeling and clustering analytics to enable Client's to improve its products, services and processes.
II. Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities:List the major duties/accountabilities to achieve the positions key objectives.
Analyzes business data and recommends improvements.
Works with large data sets from both within and external to (e.g. plant data, social media data, warranty data) and conducts advanced analytical tasks, such data conversions, ETL, filtering, fusion, aggregations and data mining.
Manages and supports small to medium projects in the area of Smart Analytics.
Serves as internal consultant to other developers and engineers as needed, providing assistance in all phases of product life-cycle development.
Advises developers and engineers on latest data analytics technologies and assists the team in process matters as related to development/support and provides the necessary on the job training and development of associates/contractors within the team.
Maintains accurate, meaningful and updated technical and non-technical documentation pertaining to all aspects of area(s) of responsibility.
Performs other duties as assigned by Client's operations supervisor
Qualifications
A) Education:
Bachelor degree in computer science, mathematics/statistics, engineering or related field required.
Masters degree in computer science, mathematics/statistics, enginering or related field preferred.
B) Experience:
4 year degree with at least 1 year experience (including internships or co-ops)
C) Training: As applicable, per training guidelines.
D) Licenses and/or Certifications: N/A
Process/project management experience or training/certifications (preferred).
E)Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Basic = less than 1 year of experience/training needed; Intermediate = 1 - 3 years of experience/some training may be needed; Advanced = 3-5 years experience/no training needed; Expert = 5+ years experience/able to train others.
Intermediate knowledge in conducting statistical analytics (statistical modeling, clustering, predictive analytics)
Intermediate knowledge in one or more business intelligence and data discovery systems: QlikView, Tableau
Intermediate knowledge and experience in Computer Science, Machine Learning and Algorithms.
Intermediate knowledge of in one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Java, C++
Intermediate knowledge in database technologies: SQL, Oracle, SQLServer and NoSQL databases
Intermediate experience in statistical languages and tools in particular R
Intermediate experience in Big Data Infrastructures: Hadoop and ecosystem (Hive, HBase)
