Behavioral Health Paraprofessional or Behavioral Health Technician
Teamwork environment with opportunity to influence positive change in the lives of children and families. The BHT/BHPP will work directly with children, 13 to 17 years old, in our residential facility. Flexible shifts are available: night and day shift, and 8 or 12 hours shifts. Full time and part time available.
Qualifications-
· Entry Level Position with 1 year experience in mental health or college credits accepted.
· Minimum requirements: At least 21 y/o, active driver’s License without restriction, high School diploma or GED.
· Must pass pre-employment drug screen test and fingerprint background check.
· CPR/BLS/First Aid certification
· TB clearance within 1 year
· Counseling or group session experience is a plus.
· CPI certification is a plus
· Physical health exam clearance without work restriction
· Experience in conflict resolution
· Compassionate and caring demeanor
· Ability to build rapport with clients
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities/ Duties
- Create and maintain a safe, comfortable, and client-focused treatment environment.
- Assist in meal preparation, and transportation of residents to outside services when necessary.
- Ability to implement resident’s treatment plans.
- Ability to prepare daily progress notes on resident’s progress/regression, as well as report any incident promptly to management.
- Coordinate resident’s activities of daily living and assist where applicable.
- Adhere to facility policy and procedures, including maintaining resident’s confidentiality.
- Ability to manage behavioral crisis when applicable.
- Record daily vital signs, and prompt report of abnormal vital sign or abnormal behavior to management.
- Participate in all training activities for the BHT/BHPP role.
