The Laborers Funds Administrative Office of Northern California, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation, established in 1963, which provides administrative services under contractual arrangements for the Northern California Laborers Trust Funds.
We are currently looking seeking a Benefits Specialist to join our team and provide administrative and customer service support to our members.
LFAO seeks to build a team of highly skilled Benefits Specialists, capable of providing a superior customer experience at every opportunity. The position’s primary function is to provide a single point of contact for the Benefits Division where all questions/needs are addressed in a single contact event. The goal is to decrease wait time, eliminate unnecessary call transfers, and to provide an efficient, friendly, quality customer experience. The ability to speak Spanish fluently is a plus.
Is able* to perform all functions of the Benefits division, which includes, but is not limited to:- Enrollment
- Processing Health Claims
- Pension Benefit Payout Processing and Retiree Maintenance
- Annuity Benefit Payout Processing
- Vacation Benefit Payout Processing
*or willing to engage in a fast-paced training program
Is a professional communicator, both written and verbal, through any channel (voice, written letter, email, text message)
Good organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Excellent word and data entry skills
Analytical and detail oriented with the ability to act as an “expediter”, where any task can be performed on an as-needed basis to ensure member service needs are addressed expediently.
Familiarity with the various Anthem Blue Cross online systems
Basic understanding of call center ACD and IVR systems
Flexibility to assist with administrative functions of the Division, at the direction of the Division Director.
