JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Benefits Specialist (temporary-approximately 12-month assignment)
Primary Objective:Responsible for the administration of all employee benefits and total rewards programs including ownership of benefits eligibility and enrollment processes, 401k plan administration and audits, and relevant employee communications.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for all aspects of benefits administration to include financial and market analysis, employee marketing and communication efforts, and ongoing program oversight and management to ensure all employee benefit plans are administered in accordance with plan documents, global, local, state and federal laws.
- Coordinate with Director, Benefits and others, including vendors, benefits advisors, etc.to ensure all aspects of benefits administration are properly executed.
- Educate new and existing employees on employee benefits and leave of absence programs, including health benefits offered through Major and Minor League baseball.
- Administer benefits enrollment process for new and newly eligible employees, including creating benefit enrollment packets, regularly distributing and tracking the status of packets sent, received, etc.
- Serve as a knowledgeable, courteous and prompt resource handling all inquiries relating to employee benefits – including insurance and retirement inquiries. Provide timely, accurate administrative support for all benefit plans to include creating and maintaining benefit records and enrolling employees in appropriate benefit plans.
- Responsible for tracking benefit eligibility and participation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Update employee retirement (401k) contributions and company matching contributions each pay period. Research retirement (401k) contributions discrepancies and direct payroll on resolutions of such, while ensuring proper documentation of corrections is maintained.
- Oversee the administration of COBRA and leave management programs.
- Maintain excellent familiarity with state and federal regulations concerning insurance, retirement and other employee benefits and leaves of absence.
- Administer leave of absence, employee rewards, wellness and other programs and policies.
- Manage difficult and sensitive employee concerns with a high level of tact and diplomacy and utmost discretion. Coordinated with the Director, Benefits, as needed.
- Responsible for the review, audit and reconciliation of monthly billing statements and enrollment reports.
- Ensure that company benefit practices safeguard confidential information and protect employee data.
- Provide analysis and generate reports in support of people plans and employee benefits programs.
- Assist in the preparation of the benefits budget. Provide metrics and reports to identify business problems and/or support business processes.
- Will perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in benefits management and administration is required.
- Prior benefits administration experience and data entry proficiency required.
- Workday experience preferred.
- Exceptional proficiency with Excel required.
- Confidentiality and discretion; handles sensitive and/or confidential information professionally, involving only those who need to be involved or informed.
- Strong knowledge of HRIS and payroll system administration. Workday experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with budgetary software programs.
- Strong knowledge of employee benefit standards and trends in addition to applicable laws.
- Exceptional organizational skills including attention to detail and deadlines.
- Experienced with analysis and new benefits plan recommendations.
- Strong consultative skills and the ability to build solid relationships with the Finance, Technology, Payroll, Operations teams and other cross-functional internal partners.
- Shares and expresses thoughts in a clear and effective manner through verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits effective listening skills and builds positive relationships with all team members, vendors, and guests. Is diplomatic, tactful and professional in all forms of communication.

The anticipated pay for this temporary role is $ 68,000-$75,000 (annual).
