JOB TITLE: Benefits and Payroll Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
FLSA: Non-Exempt
LOCATION: Yonkers, NY
REPORTS TO:Payroll and Benefits Manager
SALARY RANGE: $70,000-$80,000/year
SUMMARY:
This position will primarily be responsible for handling all benefits administration and related tasks, and will serve as the point person for all benefits related inquires. This position will also partner with the human resources team members in communicating benefits overview and eligibility requirements to new and existing employees. This role will provide support to the Payroll and Benefits Manager and team with bi-weekly payroll processing, and will support other members of the HR leadership team with related tasks.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Benefits
- Monitor employee benefits enrollments on a monthly basis and verify that deductions have been assigned and taken out appropriately. Address any over/underpayments or discrepancies on a bi-weekly basis.
- Reconcile the monthly billing invoices for the medical, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA and dependent care coverage and provide to Payroll and Benefits Manager for review prior to processing.
- Ensure enrollments and terminations for employees are processed monthly to ensure that the billing is accurate and that the information is loaded correctly with all providers.
- Track and maintain an accurate record of all leaves of absence including FMLA, non-FMLA, Paid Family Leave (PFL), disability, workers compensation, and personal leaves of absence. Ensure that paid time off is applied and recorded appropriately and accurately.
- Participate in open enrollment and new staff orientation presentations and provide new hires or newly eligible employees with guidance on benefit plans and enrollment procedures.
- Assist with ACA reconciliation.
Payroll
- Support the bi-weekly payroll process from start to finish, ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time within our Workforce Now payroll module.
- Process new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, timesheet data, compensation changes, direct deposits, retroactive adjustments, garnishments and levies.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing data and reports.
- Producing payroll and benefit reports to support management reporting.
- Answering and resolving employee payroll inquiries.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor or Associates degree preferred, or 3 or more years of experience in a benefits or payroll administrator capacity. ADP Workforce Now and Comprehensive Benefits experience is required. Strong Excel skills including formatting and formulas required, and other Microsoft Office experience is a plus.
