Description
Summary:
High Tide, Low Tide is a beach camp consisting of Kindergarten (Low Tide) and 1st and 2nd graders (High Tide). The camp is held at Rosewood Beach on Lake Michigan. Throughout the day, campers may be together in one group or separated into small groups. Most camp activities are outdoors and focus on water and sand or the daily theme. This is an 8-week position from June 19 through August 4. An additional opportunity may be available for a separate 1-week camp position August 8 to August 12. Camp hours are 8:30am-3:30pm Monday-Friday. Mandatory training the week of June 12th-16th.
Responsibilities:
The Camp Director is responsible for the overall operation of camp. He/she will provide program leadership and supervision to all campers in 1st through 2nd grade and all counselors. The Camp Director must coordinate daily activities, purchase materials, enforce policies and procedures, provide administrative assistance, assist with bus coordinating, contribute to camp newsletters, and serve as direct contact for parents.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Excellent leadership skills, organization, creativity, professionalism, and the ability to communicate effectively with parents, campers, and staff. Experience working with people in a leadership role, preferably in an outdoor setting. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Lifeguard certification or ability to become certified a plus.
