The ideal candidate for the Senior Manager of Technology Services Projects is a seasoned IT professional with over 7 years of experience in leading and managing IT projects and teams. They excel in technical leadership, client management, project oversight, and financial management. Key responsibilities include providing technical direction, building team capacity, engaging with clients and partners, overseeing project budgets, and leading high-profile teams and engagements. They should possess strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with expertise in software development methodologies, technology stacks, and federal IT standards. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with relevant certifications such as PMP. The Senior Manager of Technology Services Projects should be adaptable, collaborative, and capable of managing change across multiple projects while ensuring the highest level of service delivery and client satisfaction. Travel may be required up to 20% of the time.
The Senior Manager of Technology Services Projects will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of our project portfolio, exceeding customer expectations while maintaining the highest level of quality. This position involves collaborating closely with the Senior Director of Technology Services, Project Managers, and technical teams to provide comprehensive program oversight and management. The Senior Manager will directly supervise project managers and staff, manage specific projects within the portfolio, and leverage their expertise in application and systems development, IT strategy, and team management. Key responsibilities include portfolio management, technology leadership, client management, project oversight, financial oversight, and serving as a billable consultant.
What you bring to the table:
- 7+ years’ experience leading and managing IT projects and supervising teams, ideally remote and cross-functional teams; experience advising and/or mentoring staff desired.
- Experience in designing and deploying solutions in the following areas: web and content management, custom application development (DevSecOps), system operation and maintenance, data pipeline management, and analytics.
- Knowledge and understanding of current software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, etc.); technology stacks (e.g., Azure, Google, AWS, or Open Sources); solutions including content management systems (CMS), customer relationship management (CRM), web portals, cloud-based, and/or data-driven applications, database development, robotic process automation (RPA); data management and analytics including data pipeline management, data security, data integration, descriptive analytics, dashboards; and full software development and operations lifecycle (plan, code, test, build, release deploy, operate, and monitor).
- Knowledge of Federal IT Standards (e.g. Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines, 508 Compliance) is a plus.
- Experience in government contracting and managing federal clients desired; demonstrated ability to effectively manage subcontractors and partnership relationships.
