Barrel Warehouse Operator

Job Summary/Primary Functions:

Log Still Distillery is seeking an experienced Barrel Warehouse Operator to work in our barrel warehouse. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing processes for the barrel filling, storage, aging, shipping, and receiving processes. The candidate will be required to work effectively to maintain a high level of quality, safety, productivity, and cooperation. Candidates must be strong results-driven individuals, hardworking, and interested in working as an important member of our Log Still team. We are looking to building a special operation on a destination campus and are looking for individuals who want to support us in this goal by being part of producing high quality spirits (bourbon and gin) and treating our visitors and guests to an enjoyable and welcoming experience on our campus.

Major Job Responsibilities / Key Duties:

Main Roles:

• Perform job functions which include pushing, pulling, rolling, and heading up barrels weighing up to 500 pounds
• Load barrels in warehouse ricks, aligning barrels into correct position in rick/tier 3 high
• Remove barrels from warehouse rick locations for dumping
• Head up, push, and maneuver 500-pound barrels in truck for transport to other locations
• Capable of standing for extended periods of time; sitting, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting
• Required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

Skills / Experience Required:

• Must be 21 years old
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a barrel warehouse operation
• Ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends
• Experience driving a forklift in a production/warehouse environment
• Ability to operate industrial equipment as required for the position
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, percentages)
• Strong work ethic
• Strong attention to detail

Desired Skills:

• Have a valid Commercial Driver's License
• Prior experience in bourbon production processes

Education Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent

Special Working Conditions (e.g., Temperature Extremes, Lifting, Noise, Off-shifts)

• Must be able to work outdoors subject to inclement weather (heat/cold) year round
• Must be able to traverse the campus quickly
• Must be capable of physical labor on a regular basis
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Must be able to work in extremely dusty conditions
• No allergies/sensitivities to spirits distilling environment
