Position: Azure DevOps Engineer for Azure Data Analytics platform

Location: Pleasanton, CA (Remote)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Job description:

Technical/Functional Skills:

• ETL DevOps, Azure Data Cloud, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Jira, and Query Surge

Experience Required

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent on Azure Data Analytics platform.
• 8+ years of experience as Azure Data Cloud Engineer and should be expert in building DevOps CI / CD integrations for ADF pipelines and Azure Synapse Analytics components using Jenkins and GitHub Actions
• Expertise in DevOps integrations of various tools such as Jenkins, Jira, GitHub Actions, QuerySurge etc. to support migration from Jenkins to GitHub Actions on Azure Cloud.
• Expertise in configuration of various ADF entities (pipelines, datasets, data flows, and so on)
• Expertise in configuration / integration of Azure Synapse workspace
• 8+ years of experience with Azure DevOps Build and Release pipelines experience in tools like Jenkins, Jira, Git etc.
• 3+ years of deploying and supporting cloud services in a large-scale environment.
• 2+ yrs. hands-on experience with infrastructure automation for continuous integration and continuous deployment of technical solutions leveraging Azure Services and Features.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience implementing Microservices
• 3+ years - Experience in working with Scala, Python, JSON, JIRA, Git, Bitbucket, JUNIT
• Imagine, architect, develop, deploy, and evolve CI and CD systems for the next disruptive data analytics platform in the cloud.
• Advanced Azure design and SQL query skills
• Must have a deep understanding of large-scale distributed systems, multiple operating systems, secure configuration
• Experience in managing, securing, Azure subscription using industry standard security models
• Experience with Git and different merge flow strategies
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools and platforms
• Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD)
• Healthcare Domain knowledge - Preferred
• SAFe Agile Experience – Preferred
• Agile Knowledge is a Must

Roles & Responsibilities

• Bring in Continuous deployment practices to enhance our Agile posture.
• Work with developers to identify necessary Azure resources and automate their provisioning.  
• Develop solutions using Azure DevOps and Github
• Develop Azure DevOps Extensions
• Operations task, using cloud native tools, like Log Analytics, Azure Monitor and Azure Security Center or other monitoring tooling
• Participate in design and implementation of framework to support moving services to a continuous integration and Continuous Deployment pipeline using Azure DevOps
• Troubleshoot issues along the automated CICD pipeline in the various environments
• A clear understanding, knowledge, and experience in defining DevOps processes, DevOps Toolsets for Continuous integration, automated testing, deployment, and release automation including infrastructure provisioning automation.
• Jointly define vision, strategy for enterprise DevOps Adoption
• Own and drive DevOps strategy definition and deployment programs - in formulating / defining and driving the end-to-end enterprise DevOps adoption life cycle stages - Analyze, Define, Build, Migrate, Develop, Operate and Manage stages  
• Define DevOps Strategy, Practices, Principles, Technology Platforms and design guidelines and recommendations to the IT solutions & development team
• Develop highly repeatable processes and have a mindset to automate everything from deploying software to mitigating system failures
• Manage auto-scaling of infrastructure and instance to right-size workload and performance
• Document current and future configuration processes and policies
• Implement instrumentation to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related workloads
• Enterprise level experience with Azure DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Powershell, Azure Cli and ADO templates
• Work on configuration management tools (PowerShell DSC, ARM Templates, SaltStack, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.)
