Job description

AYS is currently looking to hire two swing shift supervisors from within Looking Glass. The first schedule is working Sunday - Wednesday from 2:00 pm - 12:00 am. The second schedule is working Wednesday - Saturday 2:00 pm - 12:00 am. Please indicate which schedule you are available for in your application.

As a Social Service Assistant Supervisor (SSA Supervisor) you are in charge of maintaining sight and sound supervision of our AYS clients as well as supervising an assigned team of Social Service Assistants (SSAs). You must be a positive role model and youth mentor for the teens in our care and a natural leader for the SSAs in the program. You will work with case managers, therapists, SSAs, and other supervisors to provide the appropriate care and skill-building for each client. You will be responsible for observing and recording both positive and negative behavior patterns to aid case managers and therapists in counseling and/or service planning for clients. You will also provide training, development, evaluation, disciplining, and supervision of assigned SSA staff.

AYS (Adjudicated Youth Services) is a specialized residential program that supports female juvenile offenders, from all over the state, ages 12-18, by teaching them new skills and ways to cope with the growing pains of life and individual circumstances. This program combines therapy with 24-hour supervised group living, to enable youth to learn new skills and behaviors appropriate to their recovery process and individual treatment plans.

People who excel in this program have a passion for helping others. You must be able to build rapport with teen clients while upholding strong professional boundaries and maintaining program rules. A bachelor's degree in a related field is required. Prior experience in a residential facility or experience working with at-risk youth is also required. Prior experience providing supervision to staff is preferred. You should be a leader who is able to provide appropriate feedback and skill-building to assigned staff that you supervise. It is preferred to be a , but it is not required.
