Associate Quality Engineer

1. Assist in coordinating and implementing quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost
2. Respond to line calls with immediate corrective action
3. Assist in developing long-range corrective measures through root-cause analysis
4. Provide accurate and timely data to management regarding quality concerns
5. Procure gauges and measuring equipment for quality control initiatives
6. Perform machine and gauge capability studies
7. Keep management abreast of progress, developments & pending problems
8. Implement and ensures good health and safety practices are followed
9. Assist in developing and implementing quality audits of production and operations
10. Coordinate problem solving efforts with respective personnel
11. Design and implement state process control programs for inspection purposes
12. Implement good housekeeping practices
13. Keep abreast of specifications, changing regulations and industry standards
14. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
15. Write and distribute quality data and reports

Qualifications:
Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)Required:

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Quality engineering; or 4 years of experience in quality, industrial or manufacturing engineering
2. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the production of internal combustion engines.
3. Knowledge of the dynamic performance requirements, test setup and monitoring, and problem resolution of internal combustion engines
4. Knowledge of quality control, raw materials, manufacturing processes, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of engines
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization
6. Good written and verbal communication skills
7. Good analytical and problem solving skills
8. Basic knowledge of statistical process control
9. Basic knowledge of geometric tolerating and related gauges
10. Self-starter possessing strong initiative and teamwork
11. Ability to work flexible hours or shifts
12. Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite

Preferred:

1. Familiar with plant operations and equipment
2. Knowledge of MTU components and products
3. Strong knowledge of internal combustion engine performance requirements
4. Working knowledge of gauge and test equipment
