What you will be doing
The Associate Compliance Officer, Stark Law, (ACO) reports to the Office of Compliance Sr. Compliance Officer or to a Group Compliance Officer (GCO) supporting Cencora’s U.S.-based provider businesses and serves as a compliance resource within the Office of Compliance. The ACO actively takes part in compliance program operations, projects and initiatives, including policy development and training. The ACO interacts with, Office of Compliance leadership, Cencora sales teams, GCOs and other Cencora team members to provide direct support for operational departments, sales teams, and/or business units with their regulatory compliance program and requirements as assigned and directed.
This role offers both hybrid and remote settings.
  • Supporting & leading programs associated with federal regulations, including Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark and HIPAA laws
  • Leads and manages compliance initiatives to support the Cencora Compliance Program.
  • Engages with business units or departments to develop, implement and check for regulatory compliance by partnering with the local compliance and operational staff.
  • Regularly reviews business initiatives, documents, communications and other materials; serves as a compliance resource for the Cencora business units that he/she supports.
  • Recommends and/or assists in the development of compliance policies, supplemental compliance training, compliance related communications and a BU compliance plans, as considered proper based on the individual BU’s or group operations.
  • Primary responsibilities regarding the Compliance Program include the following:
  • Oversight and monitoring of the Cencora Compliance Program at the business level, in conjunction and coordination with the GCOs and Office of Compliance leadership.
  • Reporting on at least a monthly basis (or more often as necessary) to the Cencora CCO on the progress and implementation of the Compliance Program activities.
  • Reporting to the Compliance Committee any compliance related issues or matters at the BU level, including any matters raised through the Disclosure Program.
  • Coordinating with the CCO, Global Quality and Regulatory Affairs (GQRA), Internal Audit, and/or OOC team, all compliance reviews and monitoring activities. This includes, but is not limited to, annual or periodic reviews, and overseeing any resulting corrective action, as well as preparation of board decks relating to the same.
  • Conducts on-site assessments and takes part in audit and compliance meetings, as requested
  • Promotes participation in, and completion of, various compliance training requirements
  • Responsible for performing responsibilities with a demonstrated high degree of integrity, good judgement, assertiveness and an approachable demeanor, while eliciting the respect and trust of the CCO and Compliance Lead Team.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
What your background should look like
Requires broad training in related field through completion of a four-year bachelor’s degree program or equivalent combination of education and experience; normally requires a minimum of three (3) years related and progressively responsible experience; previous work experience in regulatory affairs and/or compliance field. Knowledge and experience with federal healthcare regulations required, including the Anti-Kickback Statute (KEY), Stark Law, HIPAA and U.S. state privacy laws. Knowledge of DEA and FDA requirements for distribution, drug manufacturing, pharmacy, health program support and patient programs helpful.

  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations, including Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark and HIPAA laws.
  • Knowledge of Office of Inspector General guidance related to Compliance Programs.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Anti-Kickback Statute highly desired
  • Knowledge and understanding of Cencora policies and procedures
  • Proficient interview and interrogation skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with others
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate facts, determine alternative solutions to problems, evaluate courses of action, and make sound management decisions
  • Strong interpersonal skills; proactive and agile
  • Ability to travel up to 15% - 30% of the time domestically

  • This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
