Job Description Summary
The Auburn University Department of Chemical Engineering invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions with an anticipated start date of August 2024. The areas of expertise are open; however, the individuals selected for these positions will be expected to contribute to the growth of at least one of the department's strategic focus areas: energy and environment, advanced materials, computer-aided chemical engineering, and pharmaceutical/biomedical engineering. The candidates selected for these positions must demonstrate a strong commitment and potential to excel at both research and teaching in the area of chemical engineering. Additionally, the candidates are expected to have a strong record of scholarly publication, have the ability to attract and sustain externally sponsored research funding to support their research programs, collaborate with faculty on a number of interdisciplinary research projects, effectively teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and mentor graduate and undergraduate students. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field at the time employment begins. The candidates selected for these positions must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointments are scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Ph.D (or terminal degree) is required at the time employment begins. Excellent communication skills and a high level of personal motivation are required.
