Aa a valued member of the Life & Annuity Deals Team, this role will actively assist and sometimes lead the origination, due diligence and execution of Life and Annuity M&A and reinsurance deals for Fortitude Re globally. An energetic individual who is a team player, with strong work ethics and commercial sense, demonstrates intellectual curiosity, a “can-do” attitude, and takes pride in the delivering quality work product within a fast-paced environment will excel in this role. This role will be based in our Jersey City, NJ office and can work on a hybrid schedule.
What You Will Do:
• Management of the new business deal process by working closely with internal stakeholders and coordinate across functions to ensure process flow: Deal Team Actuarial, Finance, Tax, Legal, Inforce Management, and Operations
• Develop effective presentation materials for communication with our leadership team and investors
• Lead in evaluating target companies or blocks of business for financial, operational and strategic fit and the impact of the potential transaction on business strategy
• Maintain relationships with bankers, brokers and advisors, and secondarily to assist in the sourcing of new business opportunities
• Provide or supervise analytical deals support, including but not limited to conducting market research, constructing financial models and other ad-hoc analysis
• Strategy: Partner with senior management team in the both the formal strategic planning process as well as the ongoing evolution of Fortitude’s strategic plan
• Project Support: Further partner with senior management in leading and supporting execution of key enterprise-wide projects, especially those that require collaboration among multiple groups and functions across the firm, including:
• Assist in Board of Directors meeting preparation, including
• Ensuring presentation materials are appropriately tailored to meeting topics and managing presentation logistics
• Information and analysis requests from Fortitude’s Board of Directors
What You Will Have:
• Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, or other quantitative field
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a Life and Annuity Insurance M&A or strategy role
