General Responsibilities:
The University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College is seeking to hire a Assistant Teaching Professor of Fine Art position hopefully to begin in January of 2024. A successful candidate will be able to teach all Foundation level Studio Art courses: Basic Design, Basic Drawing, Basic Sculpture, and Figure Drawing, and Introduction to Visual Arts and engage in service to both the College and School Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
Service to the College will include:
Advising students.
Participating in recruitment, retention, special programs, curriculum assessment, and development.
Contributing to department, college, and university committees.
Other duties as assigned. Service to the Department will include serving as co-Faculty Sponsor of the Art Club, assisting with the Annual Student Completive, working with other Art Faculty to oversee and maintain the following studio spaces: Drawing Studio, Design Studio, Sculpture Studio, Woodshop, and the equipment in each of these spaces, and assisting in inventory and ordering of materials each semester.
This position requires teaching 15 credit hours at the undergraduate level per semester. UA-PTC is looking for someone who embodies Esprit de Corp.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Requirements: Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline. Higher education teaching experience. Candidates for this position must be flexible to teach day, evening, or weekend classes. Teaching assignments may include satellite locations, alternative delivery methods, all levels of theater, and directing a student production. They must also possess excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Preferred Qualifications: Community college teaching experience. Experience with online course development and instruction.
