Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an Assistant Project Manager with a background as a Geologist or, Environmental Scientist to join our Resilience Environment team in Melville, NY.
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will help manage environmental investigation and remediation projects with oversight from senior managers and technical experts. You will possess great attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently, and be capable of working as a collaborative and productive member of a high-performance team.
This position requires both office and field work. You should expect to be in the field up to 25% of the time mentoring junior staff and overseeing field activities. Field work may be performed at project sites with environmental media (e.g., soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, etc.) that has been impacted with hazardous substances and/or hazardous wastes.

Role accountabilities:
- Managing scope, schedule, and budget for tasks including well installation, development and abandonment, site investigation (all media), groundwater monitoring and other field work
- Evaluation of data to develop and support conceptual site models for environmental investigations, delineate the nature and extent of contamination, and modify and optimize post-remedy long-term-monitoring programs
- Technical work plan and report writing and review
- Preparing cost estimates and scopes of work as part of proposal efforts
- Working effectively with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders
- Coordinating work schedules with Arcadis staff and subcontractors
- Health and safety stewardship
Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or closely related field
- 3 years of relevant experience

- 40-hour HAZWOPER (8-hour annual refresher as applicable
