The Assistant Manager, Commercial Integration and Product Sustainability, will play an integral part in managing the day-to-day work of the Product focus area within the Global Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability team. This role will be part of a larger team focused on executing against enterprise-wide sustainability goals and priorities, and developing tools and resources to enable brands, regions, and functions to embed sustainability across the business. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in measuring, tracking, and managing product impact efforts and help facilitate and support enterprise goals executed by other departments/functions.
Brand Support (20%):
- Liaise with the ELC brand(s) to help execute against the corporate sustainability goals, and drive commercial value.
- Facilitate monthly meetings with assigned brand and key stakeholders to support their sustainability efforts and materials (e.g., guidelines, roadmap).
- Support processes to ensure new brand(s) are integrated into ESG goals and programs; facilitate gathering of data to support future reporting alignment.
- Be the ELC B-Corp representative through B-Corp events, working groups, dissemination of education resources and materials etc. and develop a deep understanding of the B Impact Assessment.
- Support brands beginning and/or re-certifying with the B Corp process and maintain responses from ELC organization.
- Coordinate with relevant subject matter experts (SME's) to answer enterprise-level questions within the B Impact Assessment.
General (30%):
- Provide subject matter expertise and day-to-day support for product sustainability workstreams, including biodiversity, human rights, sustainable packaging, responsible sourcing, green chemistry, and ingredient transparency.
- Conduct research and synthesize insights focusing on sustainability covering, but not limited to, sustainable packaging, product stewardship, ingredient transparency, green chemistry, and including competitive benchmarking, best-practice sharing, technical requirements, quantitative analysis, and internal and external stakeholder engagement.
- Develop and edit presentations in PowerPoint for various meetings.
- Coordinate workstreams to support group in tracking actions, follow up communications, and coordination of meetings.
- Partner with Director on annual reporting for product areas, including ACOP, CDP, DJSI. In addition to ongoing due diligence and statements around Human Right topics.
- Support Director on Global Human Right Topics & Regulations, such as Living Wage, Modern Slavery, etc.
- Manage relationships with NGOs and membership organizations (e.g., BSR).
- Support Director on responses to sustainability questionnaires, required annual reporting, etc. for product sustainability programmatic areas.
- Support Director and Executive Director of Sustainability in identifying and developing tools, resources, guidance documents, and best practices across programs to upskill and empower the business to execute against sustainability goals.
- Manage data and analysis in Excel including, but not limited to, retailer clean beauty tracking, sustainability certifications and eco-logos, and Product sustainability data.
Biodiversity (25%)
- Support Director and Executive Director of Sustainability with data management and responses for RSPO reporting, CDP Forest, and Biodiversity efforts.
- Support Director on expanding ELC's Nature and Biodiversity strategy.
- Maintain Biodiversity landscape map, emerging trends, regulations, and commitments.
- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience from a top-tier consulting firm, NGO working with business, or a CSR/sustainability, corporate affairs or similar role in the private sector
- Experience working in a multi-branded retail company or other industry with high-profile consumer brands a plus
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience in ESG and Raters and Ranking reporting (CDP, DJSI, ACOP)
- Project management and Product stewardship (e.g. design, life cycle assessment) experience nice-to-have
- Excellent project management skills and experience working on multiple, disparate projects simultaneously
- Well-developed interpersonal skills for high-level interaction with other functions and brands
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to conduct extensive research, and to analyze, synthesize and make meaning of data
- Fluent in both written and conversational English; fluency in a second language an advantage

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $71,000 to $106,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
