The Department of Art at Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for an Assistant Instructional Professor of Art, a position which is renewable on an annual basis
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties will include preparing classes and instructing students in 4 courses/ 12 hours per semester, primarily foundations and K-12 Art Ed Pedagogy in both traditional and emerging studio practices.
Participation in service, provide student mentorship, make contributions to curriculum development, assist in recruitment efforts, advising student groups, and oversee portions of the gallery operations.
Education and Experience
Required Education and Experience - Time of Hire
MA in studio area required. University level studio teaching experience, candidates with graduate teaching experience will be considered. Experience teaching future Art Educators.
Preferred Education and Experience -
MFA in studio art preferred. K-12 Pedagogy and teaching experience preferred. Gallery operations experience preferred.
