Assistant General Manager

If so, you may be the one whom we are looking for, our new Assistant General Managers.

Here's what the job would look like:

The Assistant General Manager directs the daily operations of front office, housekeeping, and engineering in providing excellent guest service throughout the property, through guest interaction, maintenance/sanitation of the guest rooms and public areas. This position will implement procedural changes ensuring excellent guest service while monitoring inventories and expenses.

Here are your responsibilities:

1. Oversees the front office, housekeeping, and engineering associates to attract, retain and motivate them while providing a safe work environment; interview, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, recommend and conduct performance and salary reviews and recommend discipline and termination, as appropriate.

2. Collaborate with Front Office manager to ensure the front office staff to ensure high standards of guest service are delivered to all guests.

3. Partners with Housekeeping leadership to oversee the supervision and inspection of the daily cleaning of the guest rooms, public areas and back of the house; ensure compliance with accident/loss prevention programs, LSOPs and SOPs and health/sanitation standards and regulations to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

3. Oversees and monitors the property projects performed by engineering, ensuring all safety standards are adhered to.

4. Monitor and report on expenses (payroll and supplies) to aid in controlling costs while ensuring adequate staff and supplies are on hand to provide top quality services.

6. Implements and manages hotel's daily quality process including goal communication, staff member improvement, compliance with OLS standards of product and performance, service recovery and problem prevention.

7. Respond to guest requests, concerns, and problems.

8. Refer and follow up on maintenance issues/problems with Engineering to protect hotel assets, ensure a safe, accident-free environment for guests and associates, and maintain/ improve guest satisfaction.

9. Implement emergency training and procedures to ensure appropriate protection of the hotel's guests, staff, and company assets.

These are what the job requires:

1. Abide by and making sure that others as well, abide by the payroll policies, procedures (punch in/punch out), Meals and Rest Periods policy and OLS Hotels & Resorts, dba Springboard Hospitality Rules of Conduct.

2. Communicate and demonstrate a working knowledge of all hotel safety and security procedures as required maintaining a secure and safe environment for associates as well as guests.

3. Report any unusual occurrences and/or request to, in partnership with the General Manager.

4. Read and abide by all the regulations and rules of conduct stated in the team member handbook.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Education: College degree preferred or one to two years of post-high school education.

Experience: Experience required by position is from two to three full years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).

Skills and Abilities:
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Front Office and Housekeeping fields; knowledge of hotel industry; preferably OLS Hotels & Resorts, dba Springboard Hospitality policies and procedures; and the ability to determine the course of action based on these guidelines.
  • Requires ability to manage engineering projects to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Requires ability to manage the front office operation and ensure a high level of guest service is always delivered.
  • Requires supervision/management skills.
  • Ability to compile facts and figures; ability to communicate information and hotel services to management and guests.
  • Second language preferred.

No. of associates supervised: Up to 40 associates.

Travel required: None.

Hours Required: Forty to fifty hours over a five-day period; scheduled days and times may vary based on need.
