Position Summary

The Assistant Director of the Care and Advocacy Program is a position in the Office of the Dean of Students that reports to the Director of the Care and Advocacy Program. The University is committed to providing a comprehensive and integrated response to students who have experienced any form of sexual harassment or violence. The position serves a key role in ensuring support for students experiencing any form of sexual harassment including sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.
The position provides initial crisis intervention and support to students experiencing any form of sexual harassment during regular working hours, and manages an on-call rotation outside of regular working hours (24 hours/7 days a week) with other program staff, assessing students' immediate needs and any campus safety concerns. The Assistant Director provides information and options and refers students to available resources in an effort to ensure that the student has the necessary support to continue their academic program of study. Following the initial response, the Assistant Director will be responsible for coordinating any ongoing services requested by the student.
The position provides ongoing case coordination to address the needs of other students who have related challenges and/or barriers to their academic success, including medical, psychological, psychiatric, and other social issues. The position is responsible for coordinating generalist crisis response services provided through the DOS office, which includes crisis support and consulting with faculty, staff, students, and families.
This position also supervises a full-time program coordinator.

Minimum Requirements

Master's degree in social work, counseling, counseling psychology, couples and family therapy, or similar degree.
Two years experience providing crisis response for individuals that includes coordination of care with campus and/or community services.
One year of experience supervising employees.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional licensure or registered associate in Oregon in social work, counseling, counseling psychology, or couples and family therapy; or ability to register with the appropriate licensing board within 3-6 months of start date.
Two to three years of experience providing support, assistance, and/or advocacy to survivors of sexual violence, including sexual assault, domestic violence, relationship violence, and/or stalking.
Experience serving in or managing an on-call rotation providing 24-hour crisis response to individuals in crisis.
Experience working with a college student population in a higher education setting.
Experience providing case-coordinating practices as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of higher education laws and regulations, including Federal legislation such as Title IX and the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
