Assistant Branch Manager

Role:

All Credit Union employees must embody the Credit Union’s mission statement to deliver an exceptional financial experience, enrich the lives of our members, and benefit our educational partners. All employees of Lookout Credit Union are expected to uphold the Credit Union’s mission and vision statements, and the employee’s actions should always embody the Credit Union’s TREAD model. The primary role of the Assistant Branch Manager is to assist in the operations of the branch and backup the Branch Manager as needed.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

1. To assist the Branch Manager (as assigned) in directing, coaching, and managing the staff in their daily duties. Provide support when the Branch Manager is out of the office.

2. To function as a Loan Officer, processing and approving loan applications

3. To serve as a resource for subordinates/staff with knowledge in Lending, Teller and MSR functions, IRA's, MSA's, Certificates and all regulations.

4. Cross sell credit union products and services that would benefit the member.

5. Perform MSR functions when necessary.

6. Perform Teller functions when necessary.

7. Serve as Vault Teller for cash operations.

8. Perform other assigned duties as required to provide a consistently high standard of service to members.

Performance Measurements:

1. To assist the Branch Manager in maintaining and developing a qualified staff sufficient to meet the needs of our members.

2. To function as a Loan Officer for the branch, underwriting loans up to the amount assigned per management and credit union policy. To meet or exceed loan goals for the branch.

3. To ensure that on average, staff personnel are balancing in line with credit union standards and policy.

4. To meet or exceed monthly staff cross sell goals.

5. To reach or exceed the annual budgeted operating plan for the branch, and to meet or exceed the branch growth plan.

6. The employee’s actions should always reflect the Credit Union’s TREAD model to teach, respect, empower, adapt, and deliver to our members and coworkers.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience:

Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education:

A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills:

Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills:

1. Good communication skills, mature attitude, established reputation for being cooperative, and a professional appearance.

2. Knowledgeable about Credit Union policies, procedures, products and services; established competency with the credit union's core system, strong computer skills; and cash-handling skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Talking is important to impart detailed or important oral information accurately and quickly to other workers and the public. Must be able to perceive sounds and words through oral communication. Ability to exert up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally and lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Involves sitting for long periods of time.

Work Environment:

Work is generally performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. Exposure to ambient office equipment noise such as computers, telephones, and conversations between associates and members.
