We are proud to present an exciting opportunity as an Area Director overseeing the Rehab Services provided to Skilled Nursing Facilities in Central, PA.

Stepping into this position, you will play a vital role in overseeing multiple teams of therapy staff. We are looking for a candidate who possesses a combination of clinical expertise, leadership skills, regulatory knowledge, and a deep understanding of SNF operations. We are seeking a therapist with a minimum of 5 years of Management experience. Multi-site management is preferred but not required. The ability to travel will be essential to fulfill the duties of this role.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

Rehabilitation Services Management: Supervising and coordinating all rehabilitation services within the facility, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.

Clinical Staff Supervision: Managing a team of clinical professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other therapy staff. This involves training, scheduling, and evaluating staff performance.

Patient Assessment: Overseeing the assessment of residents to determine their rehabilitation needs and creating individualized care plans in collaboration with therapists and other healthcare professionals.

Rehabilitation Program Development: Developing and implementing rehabilitation programs that align with the specific needs of residents. This may include creating programs for post-surgery recovery, stroke rehabilitation, and other conditions.

Patient Care Coordination: Ensuring effective coordination of care between rehabilitation services and other clinical and medical services in the facility. This includes communication with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare providers.

Quality Assurance: Monitoring and maintaining high standards of care in the rehabilitation department, tracking patient progress, and making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that the facility complies with all relevant healthcare regulations, including those specific to SNFs, rehabilitation services, and patient care.

Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyzing rehabilitation and patient outcome data, generating reports to track progress, and making data-driven decisions for program improvement.

Patient and Family Education: Providing education to residents and their families about rehabilitation programs, treatment goals, and expected outcomes.

Equipment and Resource Management: Ensuring that the facility has the necessary equipment and resources to support rehabilitation services, and managing their maintenance and acquisition.

Patient Advocacy: Advocating for the best interests of residents and ensuring their needs are met in the rehabilitation process.

Continuing Education: Staying updated with the latest developments in rehabilitation therapy, clinical best practices, and regulatory changes in the SNF and rehabilitation field.

Emergency Preparedness: Developing and implementing plans for responding to emergencies and crises within the facility, including those related to resident care.

Patient Satisfaction: Monitoring and improving patient and family satisfaction with rehabilitation services by collecting feedback and implementing strategies for enhancing the patient experience.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree as a licensed therapist, Physical Therapist (PT), Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), Occupational Therapist (OT), Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).

SNF Experience: Extensive experience working in Skilled Nursing Facilities is crucial. The candidate should have a deep understanding of SNF operations, patient populations, regulations, and challenges specific to these facilities.

Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills are necessary for managing clinical teams, making informed decisions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Regulatory Knowledge: A thorough understanding of Medicare and Medicaid regulations as they relate to SNFs is essential. The candidate should ensure compliance with these regulations, as well as other healthcare laws and standards.

Quality Improvement: Experience in developing and implementing quality improvement programs, outcome measures, and protocols to enhance patient care and therapy outcomes is crucial.

Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, which could include the need for an overnight stay.
