GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The mission of the Neurological Clinical Research Institute (NCRI) is to accelerate translational research in neurological disorders through initiating and testing novel therapies by custom-designing research protocols, by bringing efficacy strategies and infrastructure to Clinical Research and implementing observational and interventional Clinical Trials. To empower the NCRI on its mission, and to capture and manage information from Clinical Research, the Center for Innovation and Bioinformatics of the NCRI develops, maintains, and deploys software platforms and programs. Working independently under minimal supervision of the Director of IT, the Analyst will:
- Acquire detailed knowledge of the System so as to triage issues and enhancement requests from the professional and support staff
- Provide support in using the System to the NCRI personnel
- Develop specification requirements for new System modules
- Support internal or sponsor -initiated audits
- Install, support, troubleshoot and maintain the System
The NCRI is looking for a motivated team player with the ability to provide a high level of services while working on multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent project management and communication skills, as well as being able to work independently, take initiative and prioritize tasks is required.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General Duties:
- Report and track issues and enhancement requests for the System into a database
- Release new versions of the system for testing, training, and deployment
- Be responsible for the System releases, installations, and upgrades
- Support internal or sponsor -initiated audits
- Serve as a liaison between software development team and the coordination center personnel
- Update electronic Case Report Forms (eCRFs) using PharmaARCHITECT system
- Create test scenarios and develop test scripts
- Execute testing in an integrated environment while incorporating quality testing management concepts.
- Coordinate testing and validation procedures between NCRI and software developers
- Develop user and functional specifications requirements for the System and specific Clinical Trials
- Accepts responsibilities for special projects as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS degree is preferred; with a concentration in computer science or information technology is a plus.
- Minimum of one to three years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Experience with computer systems or customer support is a required.
- Familiarity with clinical trial systems is preferred. Knowledge of PharmaENGINE system is a plus
- Knowledge of database programming is preferred.
- Understanding of trial design, data management, and compliance with federal regulations issues is highly desirable. Experience with business analyses and user training is preferred.
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Fluency with computers and working knowledge of database design and programming is a must.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects.
- Ability to meticulously produce and maintain large volumes of documentation.
- Data analysis skills to profile and understand source system data
- Experience with SQL querying and programming
- Familiarity with stored procedures and views.
- Perform quality assurance and testing of SQL server environment.
- Work with others across functional units to identify business needs and discuss solution options.
- Ensure best practices are applied and integrity of data is maintained through security, documentation, and change management
- Must follow a structured approach to problem solving and have a proven understanding of analytical and quantitative methods.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to create and deliver presentation are required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position will be primarily remote, with the expectation of 5-20% hybrid flex time in office as needed, some travel may be required.
