Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Establish visions, strategies and patterns for application capabilities to be used across Gallagher
• Play a key role in defining the selection of appropriate technologies, application architecture, and delivery pipelines for solutions
• Design and develop hybrid enterprise application solutions
• Development of applications (UI's, APIs, middleware) and data solutions
• Work directly with stakeholders to understand and document their business needs and technology requirements
• Evangelize with the teams about modern application and cloud approaches
• Develop roadmaps for legacy applications to migrate to modern architectures
• Perform proof of concept exercises to test and validate capabilities, collaborating with architects and developers
  • Initial projects will be working with AI Architects for unstructured form ingestion
• Design, code, test, and peer review solutions
• Work with the Infrastructure team in developing: cloud first architectures, infrastructure as code, and collaborative process
• Design deployment pipelines leveraging DevOps and Cloud Management tools
• Work with teams to develop a center of excellence for cloud application development
• Contribute to Gallagher's cloud strategy (Azure [primary], AWS, GCP)
• Perform build vs buy analysis for application technologies
• Contribute and guide at all stages of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Work with vendors to implement key technical solutions
• Mentor and help grow the careers of others
• Contribute to the enterprise architecture of Gallagher

Required

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in application solution development, 5 years in cloud solution development
• Experience conceptualizing, architecting, and developing application solutions to solve business challenges
• Knowledge of industry developments, business information systems and practices, development methods, procedures, standards, techniques, Agile application life cycle, test driven development, continuous integration of code development, and cloud technologies.
• Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, sufficient to develop and present management briefings; provide written and/or verbal guidance on technical issues; and prepare/present recommendations and reports; collaborate, educate, and negotiate with peers.
• Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and evaluate existing and proposed business systems and procedures, develop requirements and identify system solutions in detailed orientated terms.
• Experience leading and managing the design, development and deployment of performant, scalable business software
• Ability to integrate cloud services with on premise technologies
• Ability to develop design patterns, references architectures and solutions; and to educate others.

Preferred

• Experience with languages: C# / JavaScript / Python / SQL / Terraform / PowerShell / ARM
• Experience with frameworks: .Net / .Net Core / Angular / CSS pre-processors / JWT / OAuth
• In-depth hands-on knowledge of cloud technologies and implementations
