Form of workResponsibilities PRIMARY FUNCTION: This Application Development Specialist position will be focused on designing and implementing new and innovative stand-alone, web, and mobile applications while enhancing existing systems. This position requires imaginative and out-of-the-box thinking around designing and developing problem-focused technology solutions and leveraging innovative development and communication platforms in a challenging and rewarding healthcare and academic innovation-driven environment. This position needs to work efficiently and collaboratively within the group as an agile team member and across the organization with System Administrators, Database Administrators, Information Security Administrators, UX and UI Designers, Trainers and Documentation Experts, Support, Marketing, Hospital and University Administration, and other teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Designs, develops, documents, implements, and evaluates custom standalone, web, and mobile applications and supporting interfaces using varied technologies, platforms, and programming languages such as Python, React, Flask, Adobe AEM, .Net, , Java, JavaScript, CSS, Bootstrap framework, Ruby on Rails, , etc. Augments existing vendor systems with new features and functionality. Operates in clinical and academic environments on varied systems including Electronic Health Records such as AllScripts and Epic, Student Information Systems such as Banner, Business Systems, ERP Systems such as PeopleSoft, Learning Management Systems such as HealthStream and Blackboard Learn, Reporting Systems, Data Warehouses, etc.
Designs and optimizes databases including Oracle, SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc. Conducts client needs analysis to define requirements and project scope. Assists in production problem resolution.
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering or other related field. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 3-5 years of web and/or mobile Application Development.
Experience with Lean and Agile methodology and the Scrum framework is highly desirable. Experience with the development of Mobile Applications is highly desirable. Experience with Big Data Technologies is highly desirable.
________________________________________________________________________ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Demonstrated experience with Application Development using languages such as Objective-C, JavaScript, ColdFusion, PHP, Swift, C#. Flexibility to rapidly learn other languages as needed. Experience with mobile development languages such as Objective-C, Swift, and mobile development platforms such as Appcelerator, PhoneGap, Xamarin, etc.
Experience with database design, optimization, and techniques including triggers and stored procedures using Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL. Strong JavaScript skills with extensive use of frameworks and libraries.
