Summary
Work with the finance and departments on reporting, forecasting, and budgeting for our growing business
Provide financial reporting, analysis, and decision support to both corporate & divisional departments as well as assist the overall FP& A department with consolidation, reporting, forecasting and analytics. Support financial modeling, budgeting/forecasting, and developing internal management reports.Will support and the Company’s key ongoing strategic and operational initiatives
Responsibilities
• Play a key role in annual budgeting, periodic re-forecasting processes and developing internal management reports
• Partner closely with other departments and perform detailed analytics and reporting to evaluate key performance indicators and business drivers, sample tasks include, but are not limited to: Sales, merchandising, distribution & logistics, labor productivity & store profitability analytics, Monthly Board of Director updates, Monthly variance analyses with focus on corporate, store, and DC logistics expenses Monitor cash flow activities, and capital expenditure spend against plan, Analyze recent business trends on an ad-hoc basis, often in collaboration with other departments
• Evaluate and provide support for ongoing strategic growth initiatives, sample tasks include, but are not limited to conduct market and business research and due diligence, Build detailed forecasts and business plans,
• Develop financial forecasts of revenue, operating expenses, and capital expenditures and perform budget vs. actual analysis.
• Develop product profitability models by creating key performance measures and key drivers of revenue and expenses.
• Identify and analyze financial and business operation trends and metrics
• Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and help review critical financial decisions.
• Collaborate with management to evaluate opportunities for process improvements and understand key metrics
• Improve upon our monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and review process for the retail division
• Understand financial results, assess variances to plan, and develop insightful dashboards and succinct storylines to describe retail performance
• Create ROI analysis for new locations and potential markets
• Coordinate with Accounting to provide answers to the financial inquiries from all the functions
• Produce reporting packages and work with management to define and track key performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls as applicable to your function within the organization.
• Provide analysis in the following area: Quarterly store sales goals; Weekly/Monthly payroll hours projection; Monthly/Quarterly bonus processing; and running quarterly store P&L’s.
• Provide reporting of KPI’s (key performance indicators) for management and field
• Provide support for ad-hoc requests from senior management and field management
• Abide to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy.
Qualifications
Minimum Required Experience/ Skills/Knowledge:(Please List)
• B.S. in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent, from a leading undergraduate institution and a top academic performer.
• 4+ years financial analysis experience in the retail sector, Fortune 500, or high growth firm; 2-3 years operational experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical and modeling skills, in-depth experience with financial statement analysis and a strong understanding of finance concepts such as product profitability, P&L management, capital expenditures, and inventory.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and good working knowledge of, PowerPoint, and Access; experience in financials systems and/or Business Objects a plus.
• Experience in supply chain management such as category management, merchandise planning, and/or distribution a definite plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task.
• Team player with a positive attitude and a focus on business issue
• High level of customer service and relationship management, with excellent interpersonal skills
• ERP experience (for example: NetSuite, Oracle, SAP)
Preferred Experience/ Skills/Knowledge: (Please List)
• MBA and/or CPA preferred but not required.
• Experience with SAP Business Objects a plus
• Experience in the retail industry in a plus
• Experience working in retail FP&A and a strong understanding of new store budgeting and planning, store level reporting.
