The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction has been tasked with front line crime reduction through rehabilitative treatment and programming efforts provided in a safe, secure and humane correctional environment and effective community supervision. Our goal is to protect the public through helping individuals turn away from crime and become productive, contributing members of our communities, ensuring a safer Ohio for all Ohioans now and in the future.

The Job Opportunity and Duties...
- Serve as lead worker (e.g., provide work direction and training) over lower level air quality technicians and/or inmate workers engaged in installation and maintenance.
- Perform highly skilled maintenance and installation work on HVAC equipment
- Periodically inspect operation of equipment
- Establishes work priorities and establishes preventative maintenance schedules.
- Repairs air conditioning, refrigeration and heating systems
- Replaces or repairs pumps, fan motors, thermostats and filters
- Welds metal
- Inspects and tests installed equipment for proper assembly of components and checks for needed repairs.
- Performs preventive maintenance (e.g., lubricate moving parts, clean equipment, etc.)
- Checks for compliance with technical orders, blueprints, schematics, specifications, handbooks and established procedures
- Installs and operates air conditioning, refrigeration and heating units
- Assists trade personnel (e.g., plumbers, carpenters, electricians) and/or contractors in maintenance repairs and performs buildings and maintenance trade tasks.
- Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment
- Completes required paperwork (e.g., work orders, reports, requisitions, etc.)
- Attends training, seminars and/or meetings as required
- Performs security functions as required (e.g., man-down, shakedown, inmate movement).
Appropriate type (i.e.,, Type I, Type II, Type III or Universal) of certification as 'technician' issued by EPA approved certifying organization per Section 608 of Clean Air Act; 6 mos. verifiableexp.in heating, ventilation, air conditioning & refrigeration maintenance, repair & installation; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in blueprint reading; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in hand & power tool operation; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in minor welding operation.
-Or 6 mos. exp. as Air Quality Technician 1, 52291; appropriate type (i.e., Type I, Type II, Type III or Universal) of certifications 'technician' issued by EPA approved certifying organization per Section 608 of Clean Air.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
