Position Overview:
This position is primarily responsible for coordinating the traffic of Air/Ocean export shipments from the U.S.A. and ensuring all paperwork is ready for the delivery of goods to final destination. The export agent is the primary contact for customers and overseas agents.
What You Will Be Doing Day-to-Day:
- Receive documentation from shippers, customers
- Review, verify shipping documents
- Develop and provide shipping solutions to customers/agents
- Responsible to ensure all documentation for export is available: Schedule B numbers for the preparation of filling the Shipper's Export Declaration (SED) via the Automated Export System (AES)
- Maintain contact with customers by phone or in person and receives orders for processing, delivery, discontinuance, or change in service.
- Issue formal quotation and follow up on these with customer and or agent
- Performs contract review, determines charges for service requested
- Documents exports by preparing bills of lading/AWB's, export declarations, certificates of origin and related documents
- Review and submit all necessary documentation to the bank for letter of credit processing
- Exports product by verifying conformity of filled orders and documentation with letters of credit, foreign import and export licenses, U.S. and foreign government regulations.
- Controls shipments by scheduling loads; verifying quantity and items.
- Verifies entered customer account data
- Respond to customer and agent questions related to current shipments and expedite shipment as necessary.
- Cargo claim processing
- The wage range for this position is $21.21 - $29.94 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.

Other Skills We Hope to See:
- 2+ years' of relative experience within a global logistic organization
- HAZMAT (ICAO/AIR-IMDG/Ocean)
- Experience in dealing with U.S. Customs and Export regulations.
- Familiarity with local port and inland container drayage, including monitoring availability and free time, getting containers released from pier for delivery, scheduling of warehouse deliveries, monitoring empty container returns, and knowing just how hard to push people
- Good multi-tasking skills
- Demonstrated passion for excellence with respect to treating and caring for customers
