Job Description
The Agriculture Sustainability Program Assistant is a year-round position to assist in the enhancement of the future of agriculture in Campbell County. This individual will assist with adult/youth agriculture programming which focuses on safe, educational, activities in various settings. S/he will work alongside and assist the Agriculture and Natural Resource Agent and 4-H Agent in the delivery of agriculture related programs as well as research and develop sustainability options for agriculture. S/he is responsible for assisting with the implementation of innovative program approaches to reach Campbell County citizens and build community-wide support for agriculture.
Required Qualifications
Ability to interact effectively with the community through both oral and written communication. Must be well organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be willing to work as a team with VCE faculty and staff, as well as local stakeholders. Must have access to reliable transportation to and from various worksites.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with a preference given for knowledge and background in agriculture. Experience in establishing appropriate marketing strategies through a variety of different medias. Experience in working with adults and youth of diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.
