Summary
Executes programs through personal selling designed to maximize the sale and distribution of Ag Services with prospective accounts in assigned area.

Essential Functions
This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
• Develops positive relationships with growers, wineries and prospective customers.
• Leads G3 programs to prospective customers and effectively demonstrates product features, benefits and capabilities.
• Responsible for meeting sales financial and volume targets.
• Responsible for creating, negotiating and executing rate proposals to customers.
• Makes personal sales calls and presentations on accounts to provide service and support.
• Develops a leadership role in the Ag and Wine Industry, including networking with growers and wineries.
• Demonstrates strong personal selling, time management, public speaking skills.
• Responsible for timely execution of objectives and priorities.
• Manages scheduling of transportation orders, ensure execution, customer satisfaction and accurate invoicing and payment to carriers.
• Communicates changes of customer orders in a timely manner to ensure accuracy and completion.
• Responsible for trouble shooting escalated service and delivery issues.
• Responsible for management of daily transactional tasks of shipping and tendering loads.
• Responsible for equipment utilization and allocation to carriers determined by business needs.
• Explains key business terms, lines of business, suppliers, and customers.
• Controls personal business expenses (meals, transportation, lodging, etc.).
• Develops and mentors the Ag Business support team.
• Manages the AG Seasonal team during harvest.
• Responsible for influencing compliance of environmental and safety regulatory considerations. Accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of Sales, Agriculture, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or Marketing and Communications experience; or High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 8 years of Sales, Agriculture, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or Marketing and Communications experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
• Candidates for this position must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver's license or appropriate state driver's license within 30 days of hire.
• Skilled in basic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) functions.
• Experience maintaining professional and cooperative relationships with internal and external customers.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Marketing and Communications.
• Previous 2 years of Ag Sales experience.
• Skilled in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Knowledge of the concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Experience performing under heavy demands with low error ratio.
• Skilled in working collaboratively making sound decisions under demanding time constraints.
• Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting complex documents.
• Experience responding effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints .

Compensation

  1. Hiring Salary Range: $65,400 - $81,700.
  2. Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
