Our greatest asset has been and will continue to be our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Sr. Advisor Ops Data Mgmt within our Data Management & Analytics function, based in (Houston, TX).

  • Lead Data Management initiatives and develop frameworks that drive operational efficiencies
  • Advanced knowledge of well data lifecycle from exploration through to development, drilling and completion, production, and eventual abandonment or relinquishment
  • In conjunction with IT, lead the design of the Data Management platform that supports heterogeneous data structures and cross-functional data integration to generate insights and support data driven analytical solutions
  • Collaborate with and lead multidisciplinary teams to design, evolve and drive compliance of approved data management standards, processes, and best practices, and where appropriate incorporated into solutions
  • Plan, design, develop. refine and maintain Data Architecture to meet critical business workflow requirement, develop standards and domain agnostic patterns for the Enterprise helping efficient storage and consumption of data assets.
  • Design, develop and own critical data management specific products, workflows, data mapping, data modeling, data pipelines and advice business units and data consumers on existing solution and workflows.
  • Continues to extend existing data architecture to support increasing user demands and application requirements.
  • Assesses and evaluates risk to understand the implications of design decisions and new technologies
  • Work closely with Data Scientists to ensure Data Framework provides required data and level of granularity for advanced Data Science projects to augment SaaS Cloud Data Framework data and provide Management Insights.
  • Cultivates relationships with peer data management groups and Enterprise Architects to ensure alignment, compliance, and long-term sustainability of our digital assets
  • Communicate and influence key stakeholders to support data focused programs and initiatives
  • Train and mentor team members on approaches and practices for root cause analysis, issue resolution, and customer communication
  • Proactively identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvements
  • Keep abreast of industry trends in project management and Geoscience


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Geoscience or Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree is a plus
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience implementing and supporting complex data management initiatives including traditional Data Warehousing as well as modern data pipeline architecture and data flow optimization.
  • Documented experience managing real-time, high-frequency, streaming, structured, semi-structured complex datasets.
  • Engage directly with customers to participate in design and development of data integration and architecture solution according to functional and performance requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in data engineering, data governance, and data architecture in an enterprise environment with focus on next generation initiatives
  • A minimum of two years hands-on experience with Big Data Platform and Data Lake implementation.
  • Deep subject matter expertise and hands-on experience in selecting, designing, optimizing, scaling, and implementing a Big Data Platform, tools and processes
  • Hands-on experience and proficiency in advanced data technologies - Oracle/MSSQL/, ArcSDE, JSON, XML, REST API,scripting languages (SQL, Python, R, Scala, shell) and DataOps/Big Data technology stack including NoSQL, Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, Kafka, StreamSets, NIFI, Solr etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of data management principles, data security, master data management, metadata management, real-time streaming data, and cloud technologies
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with O&G operational data flows from field through to technical applications and enterprise systems
  • Advanced knowledge of well data lifecycle from exploration through to development, drilling and completion, production, and eventual abandonment or relinquishment
  • Experience with data governance and data quality tools (i.e.: Informatica DQ, Informatica Axon, Collibra, etc.)
  • Develop complex data integrations and pipelines on high volume, high frequency datasets to enable AI & ML workflows (feature engineering, training, inference, alerting)
  • Experience designing and delivering hybrid-cloud data solutions, preferably with Azure and AWS.
  • Proficient at translating business problems into solutions including conceptual design, requirements definition, execution plan development leading to program delivery
  • Three years of experience managing technical data management projects leading to successful delivery having site or global level impact
  • Two years of experience presenting to senior and executive level leadership
  • Understanding of Data Science and related technologies
